If you plan to transfer to a four-year university or obtain a vocational degree, Victor Valley College is a good cost-effective alternative.
There are few opportunities for extracurricular activities, sports, internships, and research experience.
I thought it was an amazing introduction to college and a cheap and easy way to earn credits as well as a good education.
I didn’t like that they never helped with work-study or had very active counseling staff.
I am in both the welding and the automotive programs and I especially like that everything is so hands-on. The staff is amazing as well!
The academic councilors are not well versed in the trade programs so they don't always give u the right advice when picking classes just talk to one of the staff members in whatever program u want they will tell you the best classes to pick for your goals.
As a local community college, it is clear they are very responsive to their student's needs. The available staff and instructors make the experience of attending classes exceptional. The campus is clean, safe, and beautiful. With a wide variety of programs, there is almost certainly a program for prospective students. I highly recommend looking into VVC as your college destination.
At this time I have no negative comments about VVC.
There are some great instructors on campus that want to see you succeed and be successful in life.
My transfer counselors weren’t much help and only discouraged me from even trying to apply for transfer applications just because they were HBCUs I wanted to transfer to or they didn’t know about the specific college/university I wanted to go to.
Faculty and peers are good. There are good resources for students to attend. Classes are worthy to take.
Cons are some classes not available due to the lack of professors in some majors. Building and furniture also need to renew.
