WHAT I LIKED

I have really enjoyed my time at SVSU. I regret that the meal plans are so expensive, but they really are worth it.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

Some professors are SUPER strict. Be careful in your choices, but also be prepared to work hard and learn a lot.

WHAT I LIKED

I think after covid and stuff being able to tour and get a feel for the campus was really nice. I went to overall 2 events there with one being an admitted day event and the other being an orientation. I feel like the orientation wasn't as exciting because some of the information I was told at the admitted day was the exact same and there were other people in my group who have never been to the college to see what it looked like. The food there is really nice with a wide variety. The dorm rooms have their own bathrooms in them for freshmen so there is no one big shower locker room type thing. The people there want to help you succeed and they are very helpful with information.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

Coming from a violin player all through my early education years, I would like to say that there is no orchestra class at the university itself. There is a pit orchestra class that only occurs in the winter. It's for helping with play background music. There are community orchestras, but they are like 15-20 minutes away from the campus. Also, even though you don't have to send in ACT/SAT scores to the college when applying, you will still need to send them in when the school starts scheduling classes to determine what reading/writing and math class you are supposed to be in.

WHAT I LIKED

It’s a smaller size campus, the classes are smaller which gives you more one on one time with your professor. You can easily walk from the dorms to classes and to the food on campus. Once you know where each building is it’s very easy to know where to go and where to find your classes. Game days can be fun but be responsible, not much goes on most of the time but there can be some fun things the campus holds.

WHAT I didn’t LIKE

Nothing ever really happens, it’s quite boring a lot of the time. Some of the professors can be bad, so be careful and check the reviews.
