Known for
The nursing professors and my classmates.
Tuition doesn’t cover the additional nursing supplies or other programs needed.
The people are what make ONU a place to call home! They truly care about you and your spiritual life. ONU is a place where religion is a big part of education. You attend chapel twice a week, pray before every class, and have access to many surrounding churches. If you are looking to further your spiritual life in addition to nursing, this is a great place to be. The nursing program has its challenges, as all programs do, but the professors truly want you to succeed and become a future competent nurse.
Olivet Nazarene University does not allow men into women's dorms all of the time. There is a system and select days that men can come over to the dorms or apartments.
I love the Christian environment with people that have similar values and beliefs as I do. The professors in the computer science department are some of the nicest people you will meet and they want to do whatever they can to help you succeed.
The food is rough. There is no way to sugarcoat it, and it doesn't seem like things will be changing. The salad line is good, but there are only so many times you can have a salad before you get tired of it.
Olivet Nazarene University has some really amazing professors who want to get to know you on a personal level. They make sure you understand the material and want their students to succeed. There are some things that I do not always like about the school, but the friendly campus and professors make up for what I have found lacking. I didn't feel like I belonged at Olivet when I first toured the school, but as I have spent time on campus, I have fallen in love with the small school.
The food is not always great, but they have plenty of options during the week which makes it better. There are also plenty of locations off-campus that are really good. The dorms are older and small for women, but there is AC which is a blessing!
