I enjoy the student academic areas that we are able to use, specifically the student Bone Center. This has tables and booths for students to sit and study, background noise, snacks and food for if we are staying for a long time, as well as many different student services.
I do not particularly enjoy Illinois State University because of the lack of information given about clubs and social events at times.
Illinois State University is a great university for anybody. It is a diverse campus and has opportunities for everyone. There are many clubs, events, and places to go. The campus is clean and welcoming. Professors are generally nice and want you to succeed. So far, I have learned a lot and feel that this education is preparing me for my future career.
I had an amazing time at Illinois State University. The students and faculty were welcoming and so beyond helpful. I thought that my program really set me up for success. I was able to get a job right out of college and now I am going to further my education. If Illinois state offered my graduate program I would stay because I knew I would be getting a great education.
It's not as big as U of I but it's not too small. The advisors can be rough to work with. I would suggest relying on your teachers more than your advisors.
Everyone is super nice and every professor I have ever had is very helpful. The staff in every building is amazing. Everyone always has a smile on their face.
I did not like the dorms. In order to change roommates, there is a process to go to and the food in the dining halls wasn't always the best meal.
The professors are kind and helpful, the campus and dorms are clean, and the fitness center is exceptional! Food is okay, but there are many options to choose from.
The layout of my dorm can be confusing for guests and people from other dorms. There are some good issues because the workers went on strike.
My program was small but still had great resources.
Parking can be difficult at times, not unlike most colleges.
