There are so many incredible professors at DVC. Typically the students are friendly and intelligent. You do need to work hard to get good professors. You also need to double-check everything being told to you by counselors, they often make big mistakes.
The counselors! They have repeatedly made mistakes regarding my transfer documents, and graduation documents, and have failed to assist in transferring.
Attending Diablo Valley College allowed me the flexibility I needed to also be able to work to pay for my education journey. The science classes were also really good, my favorite professors were in the Science department.
Counseling was not effective in my opinion. I went to one counseling session and never went back because I was able to do everything myself.
I like the faculty and the professors are very friendly. very good social environment and lots of amazing clubs to get involved with.
The professors I have had so far at DVC have been great. You really feel like they value your experience and you as a student. I also really like the size of the classrooms, it's never too crowded and you do really get more of a 1 on 1 feel with the professors. The people are all relatively friendly as well, I haven't had a bad interaction ever. You really can't beat it when you factor in the costs all around.
I don't like the fact that there really isn't much of a culture, but it is a community college, so can't really blame it. The options for food aren't great at all either.
Great campus with a good selection of professors. The campus is pretty safe along with the nearby surroundings. It's close to the mall and many restaurants and shops. The professors I had were great and I had many to choose from. Class availability was never a problem either. The food was pretty good, at least mostly breakfast was. Overall, the school is great and I had a good time getting my AA degree there.
Parking was challenging after 9 am. The campus is pretty small and can be boring. The social life is what you make of it since it is a community college after all.
The typical community college experience, wouldn't allow me to skip the questions about rating dorm, food, etc. Saved a lot of money doing CC before transferring and am having a great experience.
Everything has been pretty good so far, my only real issue was that I am trying to do online classes rather than in person, and a lot of the classes I want to do require in-person.
