There are plenty of student job opportunities so if you need extra money there's usually a way to get it.
The culture of some of the students isn't ideal.
I enjoyed the community, the friendliness, and the willingness people have to help me.
I think that BYU has a general "snootiness" about it. Everyone thinks they're the best, so it's very competitive, which can dampen the ability one has to focus on doing their best.
It is the best school! All classes are centered around Christ, the teachers are the best you can get, and the students who attend are so fun and awesome. I have loved my time at BYU. You can ski in the winter, boat in the summer, and there are so many national parks close by to visit.
It is a close nit group, if you are not a member of the church it will be a big adjustment. But we welcome everyone with open arms.
Everyone is coming from similar backgrounds-- which has pros and cons! I'm grateful for the highs and lows of it all
Vice versa!
I love how academic this place is! There is so much to learn and so many things you can be taught outside of just what is taught in classes.
It’s as fun as you make it!
There are lots of good parts about attending BYU, the campus is beautiful and right at the foot of the mountains in provo. There are always tons of activities on campus and if thats not your thing you can go to the mountains and have tons of fun there. There are lots of restaurants and Center street downtown to have fun at too. The quality of education is very good as shown by national rankings, it is also significantly cheaper than lots of other universities.
At times there can be negative parts to the culture of the area, certain groups are exclusive and judgemental.
