The experience with other students and living in the heart of San Francisco is an unforgettable time.
The administration of the university only sees students as a form of revenue (which is to be expected of a private university), but it's rather blatant in every aspect, especially the housing issues and continual lawsuits from the City of San Francisco. The faculty are treated as expendable, giving them a frequent turnaround.
The education is top notch, the instructors are all experts in their field.
I like how the school is career-focused.
The cost of the school is kinda high.
The Academy of Art University has amazing educational programs. The housing is pretty good. The dorm's resident assistants are very wonderful people, they plan a ton of social events at the dorms for students. Which in turn makes it really easy to meet new people in your building.
It was very expensive. This school is a 'for profit' organization, so scholarships and grants are going to be your best friends. The meal plans resemble the quality of high school food. It's edible, but not quite scrumptious.
To be honest, I am mostly distance learning, but everyone has made everything so easy for me. They are always on top of their emails and communicate flawlessly. I get many phone calls when I need further clarification.
There are many different options in terms of majors and campus buildings. Due to the city, campus buildings can be quite scattered.
They help students focus on what field in the arts they want to pursue, which could be animation, fine art, dance, music, and so many more. I am still learning and they are helping me pursue my goals.
I am on the online courses and they aren't bad but they feel like they take a large part out of your day if you also have work and other responsibilities.
