Deitra L. King was a loving aunt and mother who tragically passed away due to domestic violence.

Throughout her life, Deitra was resourceful, compassionate, and committed to helping others and strengthening her community. She would have wanted to leave behind a legacy of helping young students pursue their goals.

This scholarship seeks to honor the life of Deitra L. King by supporting students who display the same qualities and values that she did throughout her life.

Any high school senior or undergraduate student in North Carolina who has non-profit or volunteering experience and is pursuing a career in human services, such as social work or psychology, may apply for this scholarship.

To apply, tell us how your experience with mental health has impacted your life and how you hope to give back to your community through your career.
