Riley Sands

My life goal has always been to help people and I feel like I have been called to do so. I plan on being a biomedical engineer and I want to pursue the MD PhD pathway after getting my bachelors. I want to help families like mine who have been affected by cancer. I hope to one day do research to come up with better solutions to cancer treatment than chemotherapy. My mom has had cancer three times and I want to help people that have it because I have personally seen people suffer from it. I am a great candidate because I am a very hard-working and dedicated student and my parents cannot afford to send me, my twin sister, and my brother all to school at the same time with how much college costs. I also have the drive and I really want to pursue the STEM field and inspire other women to do the same.
