My life goals consist of getting a Doctorate in Psychology to become a psychologist and counsel those in need of assistance from their mental illnesses or any issues my future patients may be experiencing. I am currently a dual enrollment student at Wake Technical Community College and I have taken one psychology course since then. I will take more in the future in a senior institute to further expand my knowledge of psychology and the brain, and to bring me closer to a Ph.D. I am most passionate about disabilities and mental health regarding society today, and by making people content through communication and art. As a digital artist who contributes to the art community daily for years, I have learned that art is a great mode of expression. Every artist uses their art to express themselves in their own way. I believe I, as well as others, in the art community or not, can help bring awareness to mental health and more through art. Whether it be paintings, chalk, sculptures, or digital art. I believe I am a great candidate because, as a Puerto Rican-Italian female in society today, it is hard to get the same privileges as everyone else. My family, as well as myself, are continuously oppressed through slurs and stereotypes. This makes it more difficult to fit in and reach my life goals easier.
