My name is Jazmin Carr and I am currently a senior at St. Georges Technical High School and I'm in the shop, Biotechnology. When I first began thinking about what career I wanted, I was sure I'd be a Computer Engineer or a Graphic Designer due to my love for creating things on computers. However, I started to look more into the medical field and I fell in love with the Pediatric specialty. Children are so vibrant and so important for the future of our world, I would love nothing more than to make a difference in even one child's life. Pediatricians and Pediatric Psychiatrics both play vital roles in a young child's life and that is why I am so passionate about becoming one. Outside of my future career plans, I am also extremely passionate about my sport of All-Star Cheerleading. It has been apart of my life for over seven years and I am now in my senior season. There is nothing I enjoy more than the traveling and competitive nature of the sport. A scholarship would be an excellent way for me to feel as if I'm aiding my parents. For my family, need-based scholarships are not really given as we don't meet the requirements of many. However, money is still an issue regardless. My brother attends U.D. and although in-state, it is still extremely expensive especially with him having to take a winter course. I don't want to be another extreme burden on their bank account so I'm trying to get out there now and search for scholarships to make even the slightest difference.
